October 2, 2018

The Franklin Township Regular Monthly Meeting was held on October 2, 2018 in the township building.  Present at the meeting were Chairperson Mark Creamer, Supervisors Jeanne Sullivan and Phil Depue and the people on the attached sign-in list.  The meeting was called to order at 6:5 PM.  The pledge to the flag was recited.  Jeanne read the minutes to the previous meeting.  Mark made a motion to accept the minutes as read.  Phil seconded the motion.  The motion passed.  Jeanne read the treasurer’s report.  Mark mad a motion to accept the report as read.  Phil seconded the motion.  The motion passed.

Correspondence:

The PA DOT sent a notice of Estimated Allocation Municipal Liquid Fuels and Turnback.  The estimated amount is $102,701.34 for Liquid Fuels and $36,720.00 for Turnback.

PSATS Unemployment Compensation Group Trust send a letter stating that the township’s contribution rate for 2019 is .80 percent.

Susquehanna County Assessment Office sent property assessment change notice (exoneration for school tax) for Lynn and Barbara Powell, Scott Henry, Christen Zahora and Edward Kincer, Amy and Allen Coy, John Winans and Christine Jaffe, and John Sershen.  The exonerations were to the August flood.

New Business:

Phil said the township had the opportunity to purchase a dump truck from Silver Lake Township for $10,000.  After a discussion a motion was made by Mark to purchase the truck.  The motion was seconded and passed.

Phil and the supervisors also discussed the rental of a skid steer for $3,100 per month. This piece of equipment will assist with flood repairs.

Old Business:

A great number of gas company trucks are traveling the township roads.  Therefore, many roads need attention.  SWN has a road maintenance agreement with the township.  SWN will be contacted about the needed roadwork.

Mark made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Phil seconded the motion.  The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 PM.
