Earlier today, Gov. Tom Wolf signed a proclamation of disaster emergency, a necessary step in order to ask for a federal disaster declaration through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) if damages meet the federal threshold criteria.

IN SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY:
A Disaster Recovery Center is set to open on Monday, Aug. 20, at 9 a.m. at 81 Public Ave., Montrose, rear entrance. The center will be open through Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Agencies available to help include:
— DEP, emergency permits, well water test kits
— Trehab, transportation, food bank, workforce investment
— Susquehanna County Housing Authority
— Area Agency on Aging
— PEMA
— Department of Labor
— Scranton Counseling Center
— Red Cross
— Susquehanna County Assistance Office
— Veterans Affairs
— Carenet
