December 5, 2017<\/p>\n

The Franklin Township Regular Monthly Meeting was held on December 5, 2017 in the township building.\u00a0 Present at the meeting were Chairperson Dan Depue, Supervisor Mark Creamer, the Secretary\/Treasurer Jeanne Sullivan and the people on the attached sign-in list.\u00a0 Dan called the meeting to order at 7:02 PM. The pledge to the flag was recited. Jeanne read the minutes to the previous meeting. Dan made a motion to accept the minutes as read.\u00a0 Mark seconded the motion.\u00a0 The motion was passed.\u00a0 Jeanne read the treasurer\u2019s report.\u00a0 Dan made a motion to accept the report as read.\u00a0 Mark seconded the motion.\u00a0 The motion was passed.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Susquehanna County Voter Registration\/Election Bureau sent the list of elected officials on file with the Voter Registration Office.\u00a0 Listed for Supervisors were Phillip Depue, Jeanne Sullivan and Mark Creamer.\u00a0 Auditors were Jeffrey Sammon, Carolyn Pratt and Catherine Parks.\u00a0 Tax Collector Richard Niederberger.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The PA Department of Transportation sent notification that the PA State Police Fines and Penalties in the amount of $871.97 would be paid on 12\/1\/17.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Susquehanna County Business Promotion Task Force sent a letter asking for assistance in identifying and promoting emerging, new, expanding and diversifying businesses within the county.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Peoples Security Bank has renewed the CD.\u00a0 The new term will be 12 months.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

JHA sent a Proposal for Professional Services.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

PA Dept. of Community and Economic Development sent notification that the new UCC permit fee has been raised from $4.00 to $4.50.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

PSATS sent a notice that Act 42 of 2017 authorizes the placement of 10 Category 4 casinos with the Commonwealth.\u00a0 It also grants municipalities the authority to prohibit these casinos within the boundaries of the municipality.\u00a0 The municipality must pass a resolution and deliver it to PA Gaming Control Board by December 31, 2017.<\/p>\n

SWN sent a Renewal Permit to Drill \u2013 Bolles SE 2H.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

New Business:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Dan made a motion to accept JHA as the township\u2019s sewer enforcement officer.\u00a0 Mark seconded it.\u00a0 The motion passed.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The 2018 Budget was advertised.\u00a0 Dan asked if there were any questions.\u00a0 Mark made a motion to pass the budget as advertised.\u00a0 Dan seconded the motion.\u00a0 The motion passed.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Dan submitted the paperwork for the Dirt and Gravel Road Grant for Johnson Road.\u00a0 The township should be receiving payment soon.<\/p>\n

Dan made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:28 PM.\u00a0 Mark seconded the motion.\u00a0 The meeting was adjourned.<\/p>\n
