The Franklin Township Regular Monthly Meeting was held in the Township Municipal Building on Tuesday, June 7th<\/sup> at 7:03 P.M.\u00a0 The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Mark Creamer.\u00a0 Present at the meeting were Supervisors Mark Creamer, Dan Depue and the Secretary\/Treasurer.\u00a0 Also present were the people on the attached sign-in sheet.<\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting was started with the pledge to the flag.<\/span><\/p>\n

Minutes from the May meeting were read.\u00a0\u00a0 Mark made the motion to accept the Minutes.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dan seconded the motion.\u00a0 The motion passed with 2 yes votes<\/span><\/p>\n

The Treasurer\u2019s Report was read.\u00a0 \u00a0Mark made the motion to accept the Treasurer\u2019s Report.\u00a0 Dan seconded the motion.\u00a0 The motion passed with 2 yes votes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Correspondence:<\/span><\/p>\n

The US Dept. of Commerce sent a letter thanking the Township for participating in the Census. The notice gave instruction as to accessing information on-line.<\/span><\/p>\n

A letter was received from the PA Department of Transportation informing the Township that it would receive $1,633.55 for the municipal share of State Police Fines and Penalties.\u00a0 This money will be paid on June 1st<\/sup>.<\/span><\/p>\n

COG sent a report.\u00a0 From January 1st to June 1st there have been 10 building permits issued in Township.<\/span><\/p>\n

Johnson Quarry was given approval by the PA Department of Environmental Protection for a Small Non-coal Mining Permit. <\/span><\/p>\n

A municipal notice was received from Borton Lawson Engineering that an application for a permit was sent to the State for Williams for 2 impoundments and an access road to the impoundments at the Depue site.<\/span><\/p>\n

Old business:<\/span><\/p>\n

Peter Watrous\u2019 two driveway permits were approved.<\/span><\/p>\n

A letter was sent to Silver Lake Township about the leaf sucker grant program.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dan reported that we applied for a Dirt and Road Grant on Quarry Road.\u00a0 The amount requested for was $28,725.\u00a0 Our expense would be $5,116.\u00a0 The total amount of the project would be $33,841. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Penndot audit for 2009-2010 should be scheduled soon.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Mark is investigating the possibility amending the ordinance for the square footage cut off for the building code in the Township.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

The PC 203C Pension Questionnaire was received.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Dan gave the Roadmaster report.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

-Dan had a meeting with Williams representatives.\u00a0 Bids are out for Valley View Road.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Valley View Road will be done by the gas company.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013The cinder building is full plus there is an additional pile.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013The boys have started working the roads.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Williams told Dan that H & K has the contract for Forks Hills Road. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dan attended the COG meeting.\u00a0 COG is experiencing financial problems and has decreased the number of employees.\u00a0 COG does require architectural drawing required for a possible building for Township.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dust control will be used on roads being used by trucks from gas companies.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

The Senior Corporation Communications Specialist for Williams was present at the meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n

A general presentation with Williams may be held for residence of the Township in the future. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Recently a meeting was conducted for residents who will be directly affected by the gas work. <\/span><\/p>\n

Mark made a motion to adjourn the meeting.\u00a0 Dan seconded the motion.\u00a0 The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 P.M.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n
