{"id":311,"date":"2011-04-05T17:58:21","date_gmt":"2011-04-05T21:58:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/franklintwp.info\/?p=311"},"modified":"2011-04-06T16:06:51","modified_gmt":"2011-04-06T20:06:51","slug":"dep-secretary-to-now-approve-all-marcellus-drilling-citations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/franklintwp.info\/?p=311","title":{"rendered":"DEP Secretary to Now Approve all Marcellus Drilling Citations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a move that <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.philly.com\/2011-03-31\/news\/29366295_1_drilling-companies-dep-inspectors-marcellus-shale-coalition\">has drawn<\/a> a chorus of outrage from environmental advocates, Pennsylvania\u2019s gas drilling inspectors have been ordered to stop issuing violations against drillers without first gaining prior approval from secretary of the Dept. of Environmental Protection.\u00a0 The change was ordered last week in response to complaints by the drilling industry and its supporters in the Pennsylvania legislature, and will only affect drilling activity in the Marcellus Shale.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I could not believe it,&#8221; said John Hanger, the last DEP secretary under Gov.
